Rolling on with the next up in our podcast series, carrying on with our tradition of showcasing great Canadian talent, we have one of our favourite west coasters; DJ Cure!

There’s a saying that goes real hustlers don’t sleep, they just take naps. And it’s a saying that I’d imagine would apply to DJ Cure; a figure in Vancouver’s bass scene, he is not only a standing member of the influential LIGHTA! Crew but also the founder of the forward thinking label Aufect Recordings. Showcasing releases from artists like VLSONN, the Philthkids and Bassmynt, Aufect is constantly pushing sounds that flex the boundaries of  bass music from some of the best up and comers.

This particular mix that Cure has delivered for us is a great snapshot of many of the vibes we’re currently feeling. Starting with a conservative 120BPM, and kicking things off with a track from Bassmynt thats forthcoming on Aufect, Cure travels through a plethora of sounds and drives the intensity up with each incoming track. Giving shout outs to other west coast names, HxdB and Ryan Wells as well as Aufect’s own Philthkids, notable efforts from French Fries, Comma, Clicks and Whistles and my own current new interest, Myrryrs.

We’ve had this mix playing at Dub Selekta HQ for a few weeks and have been LOVING it. You know its good when, by the end of the mix, we’re all on our feet; gun fingers in the air and shoulders a’shruggin!
